Pre-Owned Disc Rating System

A — Like New / Field Tested

  • Appears new or nearly new
  • Thrown 0–5 times, typically in a field
  • No gouges, chunks, or warping
  • Very light surface marks may be present under direct light
  • Rim is clean with no abrasions

What to Expect:

  • Flight is virtually identical to a brand-new disc
  • Ideal for collectors, backups, or tournament play
  • May include unthrown discs from players’ collections

Notes:

  • Sticker residue or storage marks do not disqualify an A grade

B — Lightly Used

Description:

  • Thrown casually for a short period
  • Minor scuffs and light scratches
  • Rim shows minimal wear
  • No structural damage
  • Ink may be present (small name/number)

What to Expect:

  • Flight is extremely close to new, possibly slightly seasoned
  • Perfect for players wanting near-new feel at a discount
  • Great “workhorse” discs

C — Used / Seasoned

Description:

  • Clearly used but well cared for
  • Moderate scuffing and surface wear
  • Rim wear is visible
  • Ink is common
  • No cracks or missing chunks

What to Expect:

  • Excellent for players who prefer seasoned flight
  • Fully legal for tournament play

D — Heavily Used

Description:

  • Heavy cosmetic wear
  • Noticeable gouges, deep scratches, or rim abrasions
  • Significant ink or faded stamps
  • May show mild warping but still usable

What to Expect:

  • Flight characteristics are altered
  • Best suited for rollers, utility shots, water carries, or backups
  • Still throwable but not “pretty”
